- How you describe your own Personality and Persona.
I am a vivacious, cheerful, outgoing and young at heart person, always on the go and ready to make a difference. An eternal optimist, I like to find solutions rather than whine over problems. The three Ps that define me are Positivity, Perseverance and Patience. I can multitask to achieve the right result. I believe that life needs to be lived full on without compromising on values or ideals, in order to make the most of what you have.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
Life has gifted me love, recognition, good health, wealth, a beautiful and understanding family including an appreciative husband, and three lovely grown-up children who make me proud as a mother every day. I have been lucky to meet top Bollywood stars at various award functions and at the Kapil show. I had the honor of escorting Queen Elizabeth during one of her visits to India. I am working with the High Commission of Canada since the past 16 years. I have made the most of life, getting the best of all worlds, which gives me a sense of immense achievement.
- Define the true beauty.
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty has to be felt, not seen. True beauty is always from within, not just outward appearance. Only a person with a beautiful heart can be truly beautiful.
- Do you consider yourself to be a giver or taker?
I am much more comfortable being a giver rather than a taker. I find much joy in giving, whether it be my love or kindness. I feel on top of the world to make others feel special and to bring a smile on their face. I am more than happy and willing to help anyone in distress, and to give my time and energy to those around me. In return, I just expect a little love and appreciation
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
My favorite idea of holidaying is to travel with my family to exotic locations. Such holidays always make the family bonds stronger in love, understanding and support. On a personal level, a holiday gives me my own space, helps me ease into my comfort zone and acts as a welcome stress buster.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?
I feel pleasantly surprised to see how things have fallen into place for me in realizing my earthly purpose. I am privileged to be selected for this pageant, and have the following three major reasons to participate: a) Winning this pageant will give me celebrity status, which will provide me recognition and help me reach out to a wide spectrum of people. b) Make my family and friends proud of me. c) Open an NGO, old age home, children’s home and/or animal home, and help contribute to the Beti Bacho, Beti Padao Aandolan and upliftment of women’s rights in the home and society.
- What do understand by Global warming and how can it be reduced to save earth?
Global warming is the gradual warming up of the Earth’s temperature due to carbon dioxide emissions, burning of fuels and deforestation, which if continues unabated, threatens to endanger human life. It can be contained by carpooling, reusing and recycling items, reducing waste, using less hot water, conserving energy by installing solar heating systems and turning off lights when not in use, planting more trees, rain water harvesting, eliminating usage of plastic bags, and going organic.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
A quote that encourages me is ‘Believe in yourself!’ One should never lose hope within oneself, should take every challenge as an opportunity to deliver and excel, and always be aware of the fact that where there is a way, there is a will. Hard work always pays off sooner or later, irrespective of the setbacks along the way.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
If selected, I will recruit a number of people who will support street kids, stray animals, etc. I will promote and develop the Charity in order to help it grow and maintain its relevance. I will attend events on behalf of the Charity and its beneficiaries at all times. I will act with integrity and avoid any personal conflicts of interest or misuse of Charity funds or assets. Lastly, I will maintain absolute confidentiality about sensitive matters.
- Why do you think giving back to society is important?
Giving back to society is important because WE ourselves make up the society and are responsible for its texture, fabric and quality. Thus we are actually helping ourselves to survive and grow whenever we help society.
