Mrs. J K Dhillon

  • Punjab
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I am an entrepreneur, a licensed Zumba Instructor and first batch of STRONG by Zumba in India, a state-level boxer and an avid dancerand something which completed me is being wife of a passionate human being who has become anchor in my life.

I describe myself as strong, independent woman, attached to my roots and bound with love of my family. I fly free to reach the skies and I know my flight & my nest. I am go getter and I love to work with people. I got inspired by great women around me and I am always working hard to inspire next generation of women with my actions. Life is too short to think about consequences, I believe in doing what I believe and strive to new heights for everything I do. My mantra in life, ‘Just Do It!’

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • I am daughter of Ex-AirForce man, who taught me never to take your eyes away from your goal and how to be focused in achieving them. And Yes, once you achieve them, how to remain grounded. I was always the brat in my house, taking unsafe paths, seeking things which no one could have thought of. My first closest to my heart, which made me fearless is winning bronze at State-level boxing tournament. A commerce graduate with dual-MBA degree in Marketing & HR, I was placed with an amazing agency. I went on and co-founded my own branding & marketing agency at the age of 26. The only branding agency fully owned and operated by only women. My passion in dance & fitness took me to explore Zumba and I got myself as licensed instructor and first in India to be certified STRONG by Zumba and I started my another venture in dance & fitness.

But, what gives me high is not an achievement. Rather it’s what I give back to society. When I inspire people to be fit, when the crowd of thousands of people is following my Zumba moves in the events, or when young girls/women connect with me and get inspired to become fit, gives me the real high. The platform of Mrs. India Earth has inspired lot of women & changed their lives. It’s an honor to be one of the finalists and I look forward to a new chapter of learning!

  • Define the true beauty.
  • As its very rightly said, ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. So, when you wake up in the morning, lookup the mirror and the first thought which strikes you about yourself, is what defines you & makes you beautiful. Beauty cannot be compared, it is felt within. Beauty is defining yourself as beautiful. It is more than a pretty face, it is the mind which challenges you to take risks. It’s the soul which gives you the strength to be always be good, despite of any evil around and it is your healthy body which enables you take your best foot forward.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • My idea of family had always been fun, laughter and being always there for each other. I am lucky to have my both families supporting me during my craziest self and being pillar of strength through thick & thin.

The days are not always same every time, some are brighter, shinier and some are rainy or dark. A complete family is the one who stands beside each other thorough every phase, who understand each other’s space and yet always be close by. A happy & healthy family nurtures each other with love, care for each other’s mental and physical being and who understands & respects differences.

  • What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
  • My idea of holidaying is being at the beach with my family. Sea excites me, makes me wonder about the infinity. Being there with family, makes me feel the natural bond I have created with each and everyone of them, just like the sea creates with the shore.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs. India Earth ?
  • Mrs. India Earth is the platform which connects with people, it has reach & it inspires people across the nation. This is a pageant more thn a beauty contest, it’s the pageant with a purpose and being associated with the platform will help me connect with more and more people, increase my reach for the social causes I am working hard on. The pageant will strengthen me, will help me connect with people at large and increase my vicinity of working with more women & make them fitter and healthier.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • I believe that we are living in the best of the times in this country right now. Yes, there are issues but we are more aware. The next generation is more involved and is helping shape up the nation. We have more opportunities of building your own startup stories, more awareness about preserving our nature and much more freedom in choosing & implementing our thoughts than any of the generations before.

Yet the most important thing which still needs improvement is; the state of women. The generation before us brought us in this light of self-awareness that now it lies on us to create path for future generations to come. We need to work harder for equal rights for women to live, learn and flourish. Women safety, education, freedom to choose career & become equal part of country’s task force are the issues which hold my attention the most. I work with few NGOs in building the strategy and approach for women independence.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • The quote I swear by is ‘There is a better tomorrow’. It gives me hope during the downhill and motivation when I am at the peak. This quote was given to me by husband, who instills the hope and courage in me to become the better version of myself each and every day.

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Life is much more than one failure and much brighter than one win. Sportsmanship for me is taking each day as standalone, without worrying about the past or too focused on future. The win or lose doesn’t define you, what you do when you win or lose is what makes the difference. The journey towards the outcome is the time when you learn to be better, understand mistakes which you will not repeat and the amazing people you will meet who are there to stay in your memories for lifetime.

Winning this pageant is my goal and I am excited about the journey. A journey filled with learning from my mentors & fellow contestants, breaking new personal barriers and overcoming my own fears. If I don’t win, I’ll take away a bundle of memories and learning with me for forever.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • If I were selected as Charity Ambassador, I would work for women self-defense and self-empowerment. I am grateful for the parents who had always taught me to be independent & courageous, gave me best of the education and for my husband who supported me through my decisions and the freedom to choose & make decisions. However, the same is not the story for women in India. The women empowerment is just not a buzz word, I want to work on ground to make girls to be more confident, educate themselves and be confident to become part of main task force. The fitter, educated and fearless woman will change the way world sees her. I am working with NGOs who run self-development centers and provide education and vocational trainings. I aspire to take this to bigger level and include girls from farfetched rural regions as well into the mainstream workforce. Being entrepreneur and marketer, I want more & more women to start their own businesses and explore new territories.
