Mrs. A Khan

  • Bangalore
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I am a business woman, a mother of a 5 year old and something that is a very integral part of my personality and life is my passion for fitness. I live life on my terms and love to do anything that isn’t considered easy. I am a heavy lifter and do strength training on a regular basis. I am learning body weight training and try my hand at almost all the workouts considered masculine. I have a very strong mind and express my opinions without any inhibitions. Born in a family of musicians , singing is more of a habit than a hobby. I believe in being a woman to be my identity first than a wife or a mother.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  •  I have worked as an entrepreneur for the last 7 years in the IT industry and worked with some of the biggest corporates in the country like Microsoft but the feeling of satisfaction I got when I transformed not just my life but my whole persona is my biggest achievement. From being an overweight employee doing to a 9 to 5 job to a fit mom ,a heavy lifter and my own boss , I have come a long way.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • Beauty to me is anything and everything that makes you feel desirable for your own self. Its not just about how pretty you look, its about how confident you feel in your own skin irrespective of the benchmarks set by the society. If you feel secure about yourself , that’s beauty to me. Its not skin deep , its soul deep.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • Family is like the foundation that we build our lives on. Its like the Calm to our own storms. So a family that accepts each other without any judgements is complete ,a family that loves and forgives each other unconditionally is happy and a family that prioritizes, communicates and addresses their issues instead of avoiding each other  is what makes it healthy.

  • What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
  • Being an avid traveller , I have travelled to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world like Paris ,Budapest,Switzerland,Viennaetc and my idea of holiday is any place that shows you a different side to the world or life that we live on a day to day basis. So anything from a beach to a roadtrip to a snow filled mountain it’s perfect to me as long as I get to see the newness and variety that this life has to offer.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs. India Earth ?
  • I am not someone who believes in beauty being judged as per age old standards set by societyor women competing ,criticizing and fighting their own insecurities ,which is the base of most of the pageants across our country. However my reason of participating in this show is that, this is the only platform I discovered that doesn’t objectify women as per their age ,weight and statistics , but it celebrates women for their strengths and how they feel about themselves .Its a rare and beautiful idea of bringing women from all walks of life in all shapes and sizes literally and showcasing how flawless they are in their own way .I wish this brings a change in how we see women in general and we learn to appreciate them for the ‘powerhouses’ they are and not for their skin or bodyshapes.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • Being a woman and a mother of a daughter, I m not just bothered but outraged at the crimes happening against women and children in our country. It’s a shame to see that in a country where victims of abuse live a secretive life and the culprits roam around with nothing to be afraid of. It is ridiculous to see that our women still need to defend themselves after being abused just because they were in a certain place or wearing a certain dress. A 5 year old is as unsafe as a 50 year old woman in our country and its not going to change unless women learn to take this matter in their own hands and learn to protect themselves without relying on anyone else.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • ‘’If it was easy everyone would be doing it’’, this qoute somehow motivates me when I am struggling in any tough situation that is out of my comfort zone. It seems very simple but has a very deep lesson to it that if we want to achieve something that everybody can’t, then we have to do what everybody isn’t doing and that surely won’t be easy. Everytime I land in a situation that needs me to break any barriers, I take it as a challenge to do my best and no matter how tough it seems ,itgets easy eventually once you put your mind to it.

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • A winner has to be a ‘fighter’ first , so even those who don’t win should aspire and respect themselves to be fighters than just winners. I believe that when you try your hands at something you never really lose, you either win or you learn, its never a loss unless you accept the defeat. Sportsmanship is that undying will to fight with your best self and coming out victorious in that and not in competition with others. So do your best and respect the rest.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • The causes that are very close to my heart are the women’s safety concerns in our country and the lack of understanding about mental health in our country. If given the right platform I would like to spread awareness about self defense for women by simple tricks and techniques that enable them to use their own strengths to safeguard themselves in a time of need and educate people in our country that depression ,PTSD and anxiety are not just modern day terms, they exist for real with life threatening outcomes if not diagnosed and taken seriously by the peers and families of those suffering from them. We use words like mental and crazy so easily but there are serious mental health issues connected to them which are misunderstood by major sections of our society. The more aware people are, The more lives we can save.
