Mrs. S Kaurr

  • New York
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I am Simrranjit Kaurr, born in a Punjabi family in a small village in Kurukshetrathe land of warriors, Haryana. During my high school, I migrated to the US due to my father’s job. I pursued my advanced studies from The City University of New York in Finance and Investments.

Born into a family of farmers and getting married into a family of Scholars and Army officers offered me with an opportunity to experience two different worlds and boosted my self-esteem and encouraged me to accept the challenges that life had to offer me.

As my name signifies a spiritual meaning in Sikhism, Jap or meditation, I'm a great believer of Karma and spirituality because I believe one should get a clearer picture of their core strengths and their deeds to meet their real self and that’s what makes your character strong, undefeatable and unmatchable. This serves as the soul to my personality.

I am extremely fortunate to have my husband who has become my best friend after marriage and we have become each other's strength in this beautiful relationship called marriage.

I'm a mother of a 6-year-old cute boy who taught me the real meaning of patience and never stop dreaming. Just like the seven colors of rainbow, I describe my persona as an amalgamation of 7 qualities of a warrior who is confident, independent, courageous, authentic, hardworking, determined, and optimistic.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a daughter-in-law and a mother. Playing so many roles gives me immense pride and completes the woman inside of me. At the age 16, I took care of all the household responsibilities in my mom’s absence while continuing my education and work. My hard work and dedication has awarded me with a successful career as a Certified Treasury Analyst. In the midst of financial problems, and going through the phase of learning to be new mother, my husband lost his job.  I motivated and supported him to study further, and today he has a successful career.  I am happy and proud of the fact that I am the woman behind my husband's success. As a human being, I am serving the society through monetary donations, volunteering at social events and religious gatherings.

Being a part of Mrs. India Earth pageant gives me a great sense of achievement and accomplishment.Winning Mrs. India Earth crown is my next destination to bring glory to myself, my family and represent India on global platforms.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • Beauty stems from deeper than your skin. Being beautiful is looking good but the elements that make you look good are what defines your “character” and makes you shine all around regardless of your facial beauty. The one who is “confident” enough to take her own decisions keeping everyone's wellbeinginto consideration, who is “Courageous” to stand for the right and fight against the evils, who has “Authenticity”  in her personality and remain natural in every given situation, who is “Optimistic” in nature regardless of  the outcome, who has the “Dignity” and “Grace” to walk with her head up high in every thick and thin in life, who is “Generous”  and “Compassionate” to all and spreads social awareness with her beauty and brains while taking everyone forward to a brighter future is someone who is eternally beautiful.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • We all have heard a family that eats and prays together stays together. However, I believe there is a lot more that goes into binding and maintaining a happy and healthy family together.  In most cultures, women play a major role in maintaining harmony and tranquility in a family. In order for a family to be happy, a woman has to be at peace with herself.  She needs to take care of her physical and mental health, only by doing so; she can bring peace and harmony in a family. Furthermore, smooth communication across generations, accepting each other with their flaws and mistakes, and respecting boundaries are the keys to a healthy relationship and a happy family. Everyone in a family should understand everybody's purpose in life and support them in their endeavors rather than discouraging them from taking on risks and challenges.

  • What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
  • My family means the world to me and I would like my holidays to be close to nature whether it is making sand castles on a beach with my son or going for long drives with my husband to hill stations.  Also, going on a cruise to the beautiful islands in Caribbean help me to detox all my work pressures and rejuvenate my soul. One day, I will definitely want to travel the world and appreciate the beautiful creation of God.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs. India Earth ?
  • Honestly, since I was a little girl, “I wanted to be famous”, however with time this dream challenged me and transformed me into a woman with a vision and a mission to bring a positive change in the world and uplift the status of less fortunate people. It is an undeniable fact that any method of entertainment is powerful, and Mrs. India Earth is one such platform that will open more avenues for me to reach to a wider range of communities. And, I strongly believe if you are able to articulate your feelings and thoughts in a constructive and powerful manner then people will listen to you and follow your views. Winning Mrs. India pageant will not only boost my morale but also will come with a great responsibility, which I am ready to take on.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • There is a wide range of alarming issues that are taking a toll on humanity such as female infanticide, terrorism, global warming, rapes, child abuse, gun crime, poverty, but apart from these issues the issue that bothers me most is that of NRI’s marrying and abandoning their wives in India for the sake of dowry and pleasure. There is another side of this issue, where a marriage takes place between an NRI girl and a boy from India. However, after gaining permanent residency of a western country, the boy decides to abandon his NRI wife and gets married again to a girl from India for the sake of dowry.  So, Indian females on both sides of the world are suffering due to this practice. I’m an educated, independent and a happily married woman, I feel it is my duty to raise my voice for women who are not educated or independent and are abandoned due to cross country marriages.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • “Tough times don't last, but tough people do” is perfectly applicable to my life. Every setback has taught me something amazing is coming and every success gave me a new mission to embark on and take up more challenges in life. Life is a journey; it depends on your determination whether you want tough times to make you weaker or tougher.

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Everyone likes to win but a true sportsman is one who has his/her goals and priorities aligned and demonstrates hard work, determination, fairness, ethics, discipline and respect towards their fellow contestants, irrespective of the outcome. Nobody wants to fail, but true sportsmen will see their successes and failures as learning experiences and challenge themselves to take on more risks. One should not allow failure to stop them from believing in their ability to succeed and make success as their final destination.  Winning or losing will depend on your core strength and determination, but being able to demonstrate humble and respectful attitude towards the winner defines your strong character and true sportsmanship. Drawing inspiration from the winner and maintaining integrity by congratulating the winner defines true sportsmanship for me.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • A charity ambassador’s responsibility and purpose is to increase awareness and understanding and connect different parts of the world with their needful work. As a charity ambassador, my mission would be to empower women by educating them about their rights, and motivate them to become career oriented and independent. Women are not just good home makers but they also have a lot to contribute to the society. Apart from that I believe I will lend my voice to causes that work towards the betterment of less fortunate people by bringing more opportunities to them. I believe that materialistic things do not last forever but the best gift that you can give to someone is the gift of smile and kindness.
